When and where
Our flights take place from May till September, 7 days a week, weather permitting. We take off early in the morning when the winds are light and gentle. The balloon moves with the wind direction and whatever wind speed you feel no movement or breeze plus you have the radiant heat from the burners.
Ballooning Vorarlberg is located in the most western part of Austria, very close to Switzerland and Germany. We are located in the Rhine Valley, surrounded from the swiss and austrian alps. In the south you will see the beautiful Alps, in the north is the Lake Constance.
We usually take off in the vincinity of Dornbirn in the middle of the Rhine Valley, where we usually have ideal wind conditiones. Depending on the wind direction we often cross the most eastern part of the Lake Constance and fly to the southern part of Germany, the Allgäu, to the lovely Appenzell in Switzerland or we might land within the austrian border in the Rhine Valley or the picturesque Bregenzerwald.
